    14.04 Gigabyte Drivers/Networking Problems

    Hey everyone,

So I just built me a new machine with a Gigabyte board and an AMD A-Series APU. I finished installing 14.04 and I'm not able to get a wired connection. Of course, I can't get the actual drivers installed either. If anyone can throw me a bit of help it'd be much appreciated.

    Motherboard - Gigabyte F2A68HM-HD2
    Processor - AMD A Series (AD740KYBJABOX)

    In depth:

I put everything together, got the OS installed, etc. All was fine.
Now the endgame for me is to use this as a firewall. Modem>System>Router>Everywhere.
However, neither of the network ports I am using (1. Realtek 1/10/100 on board connenction, 2. USB to Ethernet) is picking up any kind of signal. It just disconnects.
I have a WiFi dongle that I put in and connected to the wireless network right away. Which is fantastic, just not very helpful for my plans.

Basically, I need to know how to get it to work.

Back up plan is installing Windows 7, and then virtually running everything else like I would with just Ubuntu.

    Hello!

It might be very helpful if you would give us some more details on that hardware, such as model numbers. The more specific the information you give, the better folks might be able to help.

    Cheers!

The problem is ubuntu loads the wrong driver for that lan card all the time, now it should connect but it connects really slow, if you can get a connection do what is in post 32 in the following link.

Do not know if your motherboard has the IOMMU issue or not. Most Gigabyte boards seem to have that issue.
