    Re: help with main menu

That is annoying. Just out of curiosity what happens when you change the resolution of the monitor?
    Thank you,

    Re: help with main menu

Is the 2560x1600 resolution what you are really using or just the native resolution of the monitor?
    Let's see the output of
    Code:
    xrandr
    in terminal.

What graphic card do you have?
Let's see the output this time of
    Code:
    lspci | grep -i vga
    in terminal.

Please copy, and then post the output in code tags (See Code-tags in my signature for a "how-to".

is it the same issue if you are logged with gnome-shell instead of unity ?
which graphic card/chipset is used and with which driver ? (how it has been installed)

    Re: help with main menu

Are you using a VGA cable to connect the TV to the computer? If it is possible, use either a DVI or HDMI connection. Digital TVs did not exist when VGA was introduced as a video graphic specification. I have found that VGA will limit the screen resolution when I use it on my 24 inch digital TV. But HDMI is good.

You can try going to System Settings>Screen Display and click Detect Displays. See if that changes anything.

    Regards.

It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.

    Re: help with main menu

You have two monitors connected, right? If that is the case, what you are seeing is the "smaller" monitor's image being stacked on top of the "bigger" monitor. Go to your monitor/display settings and see how it is set up, try changing one of them so that it is "to the right of" (or left) of the other one. I speak from experience.
