Window title when ssh-ing into Mint

I've been testing a handful of Ubuntu-based distros in vbox, including ssh-ing into them. My host machine is regular Ubuntu.

I've noticed that when I ssh into any of the official distros, the terminal window title reflects the name of the virtual machine. On the other hand, when I ssh into Linux Mint or Peppermint, the terminal window title still bears the name of the machine I'm ssh-ing from.

Also, I've noticed that in Mint and Peppermint, when I use apt update or apt upgrade (not apt-get), the colors and progress bar are missing. They're there for the official distros.

Now, I know that all of these systems use bash. So what's the difference?
