I appreciate that this question has been answered in different ways in this forum and elsewhere. My problem is that I just can't fathom any of the resolutions. Many people reading this will urge me to read up on the subject and figure this out myself.

I am looking for someone who understands how to map the buttons on my Wacom Bamboo Touch to mouse clicks and can explain it in a step by step fashion.

I am running Ubuntu 15.04 and have tried the GUI utility, which will allow me to map the buttons to key presses, and will allow me to map to a mouse click but then once I have clicked on the mouse the whole thing goes haywire and wont allow me out of the mapping dialogue box.

I would happily map it using the terminal, if someone could explain step by step how to do this. So far no explanation has been within my understanding.
