Just a quick question... When the GRUB menu is hidden, how do you switch between OS's? Great job, by the way!

Press ESC within 3 seconds of the GRUB prompt.

    What does this mean?

I type gksudo GrubEd and get this. Is my X Broken? I tried to install Beryl Desktop and get similar errors so good chance it's not related to your script I just don't have the knowledge to figure it out.

X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169
    Major opcode: 147
    Minor opcode: 3
    Resource id: 0x0
    Failed to open device
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169

    Minor opcode: 3
    Resource id: 0x0
    Failed to open device
/usr/bin/GrubEd: line 18: zenity: command not found

Oh, yes, I'm sorry, I forgot to respond, forget those Errors. Those errors are just telling you, that you don't have a Toshiba Tablet PC, as they were put in there to make sure that X fit the screen correctly. Don't worry about them.

Re: SCRIPT: GrubED - GUI Grub editing

I'm a linux noob and am not even running Ubuntu. Two strikes against me..

So I recently installed PCLOS next to my XP install, and everything worked like a charm. Grub worked great, I'm up and running. Then, I decided I wanted to install another OS from a large fruit company. heh. No problems there. Of course, it doesn't come up in my bootloader. In order to facilitate my not destroying my boot sequence, I read up a bunch on Grub and ran across your script. It looks great... but I'm running KDE. I've tried to search for a way to make it run in KDE and was unable to find a solution. Is this possible without recompiling it?

Anyway, if this can't be done, back to the manual editing plan. Thanks,

    Oliver

It's a script, no compilation necessary

You will need zenity to run it though, and you will need to use whatever the KDE version of gksudo is (I think it's kdesu?). Zenity is available from the repos, but it may download some other gnome libs.
