Booting Intel Based Macbook from Ubuntu USB

Hi ,

I have a Macbook but its Hard Disk is broken so I use Live Ubuntu CD to boot and use the Laptop . But in this way I can not save anything . How can I use Ubuntu on USB Flash drive to boot so that I can save the data as well .

what do you mean when you say the "Hard Disk is broken"? We need a little to go on. I'm not sure if it is even possible to natively install Linux on a MacBook. I'm going to attempt a dual-boot, once the full disk encryption is turned off. That way, I'll have both Yosemite and Ubuntu. I could run Xubuntu in Virtual Box, but it's just not the same.
