How to login into my Ubuntu Server

Hi,

I installed Ubuntu Server in Parallels 10 for Mac, the installation went fine, but when I double click the virtual machine and click the start button it sends me to an empty black screen. Any idea how can I login into the server?

I'm expecting a prompt for my login credential or something. Sorry but I'm new to Servers, that's why I'm installing it to play around with it.

Here is the detailed process.

1- Downloaded ubuntu-14.04.2-server-amd64.iso.
2- Added a new virtual machine in Parallels 10.
3- Did the installation from the .iso file
4- Started the newly virtual machine
It starts but it goes to a black screen immediate after starting.

That looks like a different problems, the user can login and on my case I cannot even login, as soon it starts it goes to the black screen. Can someone describe the typical process to login to the Ubuntu server in a virtual machine such as parallels? Do you get promoted with you login credentials after the virtual machine is started?

Don't know anything about parallels - sorry.
Have you tried pressing <enter> a few times to see if a prompt comes up? "Consoles" are different from other interfaces. They are emulating a serial device - sorta like a line printer. Doubt this will help, but ...
