Visual Studio and Visual C++ free

If I use the above to write apps, will they run directly in Ubuntu and / or other Linux flavors without extra support or installations, or does it require other software on every system it is to run on? Is there someplace where I can read these things?

Re: Visual Studio and Visual C++ free

Microsoft recently announce the release of a Linux version of visual Studio but as I understand things it is not the full version of Visual Studio. Here is a thread of some people installing it. This special version has already been added to Ubuntu Make

But, really the place to discuss programming matters is in the programming section of the forum. This section is for discussion and testing of the next version of Ubuntu under development.

    Regards.
It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.
