Won't boot after update

I was trying to update Ubuntu to the newest version yesterday, then when I had a problem like this one: Unity doesn't load, no Launcher, no Dash appears, I just restarted the computer with the turn on/turn off button.

I don't know if that was a dumb thing to do just after an update but when I came back Ubuntu wasn't loading anymore. My screen gets purple, the Ubuntu symbol appears but after that everything goes black. After waiting a while I turned off again the computer manually and finally there was something on the screen, just for a few seconds

I have a dual-boot installation with Wubi over Windows 7

Any tips?

wubi is an old thing no more maintained nor used
