i have a laptop running Ubuntu 14.04 Unity as well as Linux Mint. While typing up and essay in google docs, my laptop just stopped working. It just happened. Randomly.
When i logged out and back in, it still didn't work.
So i logged into Unity instead and it was working for a couple hours and then that too stopped working.
i no longer have a keyboard that works after the login screen on either desktop.
This is a Dell Inspiron with touchscreen support.
The only similarities between both sessions when the keyboard stopped working was:
1. i was typing
2. Virtualbox was running windows 7 (though no active programs other than chrome)
Edit - Virtual Keyboard isn't behaving either... Florence works, but has a bad key sticking problem. Default accessibility keyboard doesnt work no OnBoard keyboard
UPDATE 2: Keys do actually work, i just have to hold them down for a few seconds
