installing either lubuntu or ubuntu on old laptop with out cd drive

Is there a way I can onstall ubuntu or lubuntu with out burning the iso to cd and installing it via a cdrom?

if so please give me instructions.

what ios should I install? I have an old dell vostro

Yes to your first question. You can install from a flash drive if your computer will boot from a flash drive. (It may appear as another hard drive in the BIOS).

With regard to your second question. It depends upon your hardware. How much RAM do you have? It would seem that you most certainly could install Lubuntu.
