Not sure what you mean.
I download and update the .iso's with zsync.
Then I have an entry
sudo gedit /etc/grub.d/40_custom
Code:
#!/bin/sh
exec tail -n +3 $0
# This file provides an easy way to add custom menu entries. Simply type the
# menu entries you want to add after this comment. Be careful not to change
# the 'exec tail' line above.
menuentry "vivid64 15.04" {
set isofile="/vivid-desktop-amd64.iso"
loopback loop (hd0,06)$isofile
linux (loop)/casper/vmlinuz.efi boot=casper iso-scan/filename=$isofile noprompt noeject
initrd (loop)/casper/initrd.lz
}
save
sudo update-grub
reboot
select the vivid entry
In development testing we do lots of updates & installs.
Ubuntu ubiquity install is complex (!) frequently full of bugs for us to find. My opinion it would take a whole pile of cli to do what ubiquity does.
