Live CD Works (32bit) but installation gets multiple errors (forcepae related?)

    Hello,

I recently blew away my older installation on this computer after a live CD successfully ran. Loading and running required using the forcepae option. It worked nonetheless, so I installed. After installing, while booting, it constantly gets "Bug: soft lockup" on CPU#.

I have tried everything I can think to get the installation to work fine and used various boot options to include no acpi, etc.... I even reinstalled.

Suggestions on how to get this working will be veryhelpful.

My laptop was made in 2004 and is a Pentium Centrino (M class?) I have the most recent bios installed. Model is Acer Travelmate C300.

Have you actually tried the forcepae option for your installed system?

You mention "no acpi, etc" but say no more about forcepae, though I assume you will already have tried this.
