I have only dualbooted with XP for about 6 months back in 10.04, it wasn't too difficult to set up, but tedious. Vista and Win7 were similar (from what I read, never did any Window dualboot afterwards) but Win8 is different.
I think VB is the way to go if one needs only a few programs occasionally have enough ram. It is easy and fast and doesn't require rebooting.
I totally agree - no Win 8 and no uefi. If one already owns a valid supported Windows license why not keep it?
I use Win 7 for a few things (photoshop, iPhone & iTunes, Taxact), I have a daughter and 7th grade granduaghter who occasionally come here and need to use Windows / MS Word. I also technically support a volunteer organization and need to duplicate user experiences.
