OpenFOAM is a CFD toolbox written in C++ and Linux. I need to work with this for my maters thesis. Does anyone have any familiarity with it to guide me how to start learning.
Thank you

Well, what do you know about C++ and Linux?
I've only done CFD with FORTRAN and it was years ago, but I was a cross-platform C++ developer for over a decade.
I am comfortable with linux and C++. But I need to get started with CFD and OpenFoam. Unfortunately my supervisor profesore do not have enough knowledge himself. I myself must do all the work.
By the way any suggestions from you is appreciated.
Thank you

I looked over the examples in github - didn't look like any C++ that I know.
They have training classes at locations around the world - 2 levels. London is the least expensive. The classes seem geared towards corporate clients based on the prices.
I expected the examples to be trivial C++ programs, but they were just data structures.
I didn't look at any of the manuals ... the download for one of them started opening tab after tab in my browser - seemed like a porn website with thousands of popup ads (I hear). Had to kill the browser before all memory was taken and the system crashed.
I've never seen anyone else post here about CFD anything, so I'd think you and I are the only folks with any interest. Best to find the forums for OenFoam and ask there. Might be helpful to search for youtube videos too - found at least 10 relevant videos there.
Sorry that I'm not any more help.
Thank you. Unfortunately youtube is not accessible here in Iran. Because it is censored.
This forum seems to be quite active --> http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/openfoam/
They even have a "Getting Started" page --> http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ope...-openfoam.html
