    Problems after upgrade

after upgrading from 12.04 to 14.04 go through it all then select ubuntu
it says that the all are mounted
    then says
    Busy Box V1.21.1 (Ubuntu 1;1.21.0-1ubuntu)
    built-in shell
target filesystem doesn't have requested /sbin/init
no init found. try passing init= bootarg
What does all this mean it leaves me in command mode

Don't use this space for a list of your hardware. It only creates false hits in the search engines.

    Re: software update program problems

I upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04 after rebooting in ubuntu
    it said:
mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on root failed invalid argument
mount: mounting /dev on /root/dev failed: no such file or directory
mount: mounting /sys on /root/sys failed no such file or direcory
mount: mouting /proc on /root/proc failed no such file or direcotory
Target filesystem doesn't have requested /sbin/init
no init found try passing init= bootarg
    busy Box v1.21.1 (ubuntu 1:1.21.0-1ubuntu)
    built-in shell
How do I get out this problem

    Re: Problems after upgrade

Did you do a full "re-install" using new Ubuntu iso image on DVD (or USB Flash-Stick)? Or did you try to upgrade an existing 12.04 Ubuntu to 14.04 via the on-line update button in the Software Center? Full re-installs are usually more secure and reliable way to update (the reasons why are too long to explain in this thread).

Please advise what you did . . . also, a good idea to put a short paragraph about the specs for your hardware.
