I am running Ubuntu 14.04 as a Virtual Machine (using VirtualBox) on Mac OS X Yosemite. I am using a MSP-FETU430IF (USB-Debug-Interface). The debugger is not being detected by the system. I am attaching the screenshot of the dmesg output after plugging the debugger into the USB port. I have the necessary drivers installed.

Also, to cross-check the issue I tried plugging in the debugger in another Ubuntu desktop. This is not a VM. It has the same drivers installed - in fact lesser. The dmesg output is as follows:

Clearly, the connection initially fails here as well but a second attempt is made and the debugger is finally attached to ttyUSB0.

I have tried everything advised on similar problems reported earlier but nothing seems to work.
