    Command line Kung Fu

I mistakenly added a desktop environment to my main install, thinking I was on my virtual machine.

    I then used this

And all is back to normal.

I just thought this is impressive

An issue that may persist even after a thorough uninstall is that the installing of some DEs may modify files (or folders) used by the originally installed DE. I've seen posts relating to the GRUB screen, the login screen and splash screen (?) being modified by the incoming DE and posters complain that such modifications are left behind after uninstalling the software. (Sorry but I haven't saved links to these posts.)

Yep, I could see that happening, but so far so good.
