    Thanks in advance.

To answer the same question here, second time today:
I'll answer it the same way I did already:
This is You just joking? Right?
To be serious: it is very easy to see difference between vanilla mainline kernel and Ubuntu-customized PPA (the one I've mentioned, not any other, just to keep talk on track), just read changelogs and other stuff readily available on both places.

? You've got it the moment You've asked. Not for the first time either. It is not an answer, actually, just a pointer, to be precise.

Lol Getting a straight answer out of zika is not always the easiest thing to do. Thanks zika for the explanation. I think I'll bite the bullet and join in installing this kernel.
I hope I get it right! What could go possibly go wrong?

    Re: 3.18rc7

That could not have gone smoother.

    Code:
    cavsfan@cavsfan-MS-7529:~$ uname -a
    Linux cavsfan-MS-7529 3.18.0-031800rc7-lowlatency #201411302035 SMP PREEMPT Mon Dec 1 01:45:05 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I guess I'm in. It appears to run very smoothly so far.

    Thank you!

Why not final version? Just out of curiosity.

I missed that! I didn't notice there was more than one. I'll install that tomorrow. This rc has been smooth in both upstart and systemd.
