CD/USB stimulation at kernal level and External SD Card - Questions

I own a Samsung galaxy S4 with Cyanogenmod as it offers what I want to do. What I am able to have with that setup is CD/USB stimulation on the kernel level, and external sd support. That setup allowed me to actually use linux once and for all on my desktop computer as so many other attempts without it failed. Will Ubuntu phone offers this? If not, when they are going to be implemented?

Also, the ~4GB limitation kinds of suck, but as of now, I have no evidence that formatting to exFAT will benefit me as I don't know if I will be able to boot linux with a FAT32 formatted .img file located on a exFAT SD card using Android or even install there for that matter. So, as of now, I'm not going to waste any time unless I see evidence for this.
