My ppa for 14.04 won't work out of the box at the moment. Please read description of the ppa. Package works only with kernel 3.19 and requires
linux-generic-lts-vivid package. It will be in main repository in a week or two, I guess.

Thanks a lot, Pilot6! I have an ASUS ZenBook UX303LN and I'm running Ubuntu 15.04, and using this the touchpad works perfectly. To possibly help clarify for others, these are the steps you need to do:

    Code:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hanipouspilot/focaltech-dkms
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install focaltech-dkms
Then reboot, or do this to get things working instantly, as documented in README:
    Code:
    sudo modprobe -r psmouse
    sudo modprobe psmouse

    You are welcome.
And now there is no need to add kernel ppa for 14.04 users. Linux-generic-lts-vivid is in trusty-updates already.

I'm on a UX303LN. I just tried the steps below and I'm getting error messages that the focaltech-dkms package did not build. Any ideas? Where can I look to see the build messages?

What are the error messages? I use it on 14.04 with same kernel and it builds.

You probably did not remove 3.16 kernels and it really does not build for them. But it should not worry you, if you boot with 3.19.

@skagedal2 Thanks man you are life saver. It works perfectly on Asus Zenbook UX303LN with Ubuntu 15.04 fresh out of the box.
My trackpad works now with two fingers also the settings are available in the Mouse menu. Before there were no settings for trackpad under mouse/trackpad settings.

    Hey Pilot6,

I'm currently running Manjaro (Kernel 3.18.20-1-MANJARO) on my Asus X550JK, will I be able to use my trackpad by installing this package as well?

Re: ASUS Zenbook Touchpad on Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS

As far as I know Manjaro does not use deb packages.
You can install the driver from https://github.com/hanipouspilot/focaltech-dkms

It should build for 3.18, I guess. Actually it is for 3.17+
