Vivid with VMplayer

I have tried twice now installing Vivid into vmplayer.

Source list was good and more than 140 updates taken but on reboot I get the dash only with no background or top panel.

Anyone using vmplayer?

Tried the daily ISO for Vivid and away I went and now good to go.

lsb_release -a && uname -r
No LSB modules are available.

Now it's time to play.
