midnight commander search text in files

    Hello,

I'm new in Linux. I used to use far manger a lot in Linux. So I decided to use something similar. I realized mc is the only option for me. I found very limited and confusing document for mc. I'm using GNU Midnight Commander 4.8.11.

I want to search text in files. So I got the files by using alt+shift+?. After I open files. I have to again bring search dialog by F7. Once I hit the keywrod, I have to hit shift+F7 for the next match. I can't reverse search. So what is the reverse search shortcut? Also how can I configure my own shortcut if I want?

I have tried Midnight Commander (having been used to Total Commander in Windows) but my preference now is Krusader.

That apart I would try SearchMonkey for searching. It's in Ubuntu Software Centre.
