black screen google maps with google chrome

The past month or so ive noticed that google chrome has been showing just a black screen in google maps. When i research the problem i find most people have this problem in firefox. I do not. Firefox works with google maps. I have tried in google chrome to enable/disable webgl as a temp fix, but the problem persists either way.
