Hi,
Recently, I have bought a System76 Gazelle Pro laptop. I like the computer very much, except for it's keyboard, which to me is very frustrating. It has a similar feel as the most recent Apple keyboards have, and I find that sometimes, a letter I typed is not printed out. Furthermore, I find the tactile experience to be pretty unsatisfying because you don't feel the keys that much.
So I started looking to buy a new keyboard. I would like this new keyboard to have the following features:
- compatibility with Ubuntu;
- a nice tactile experience (I have read a bit about mechanical keyboard, and they seem great) because I write a lot;
- nice for programming. Not to much useless keys or things like that;
- a "Canada French" layout, if possible.
On my research, I have comme across the Das Keyboard, the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid (which has too much of a gaming look to me, but otherwise seems nice) and the IBM Model M (now at Unicomp), which as a "Canada French" layout.
What do you think about these. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks!
