I am not using my own DHCP server so I should be safe. I did check to make sure it was not installed. The only DHCP I am using is the one on my Router.

maybe u have no dns, i guess. AFIK ubuntu's networkmanager will not let you add it to /etc/resolv.conf just as elsewhere.
But in your interfaces add 2 DNS-Servers to your interface with the "dns-nameservers x.x.x.x x.x.x.x" statement
