XRDP is horribly bugged, or at least severely lacking, it seems. I've been playing around for a long while trying to get another keymap than the default US to work. Nothing seems to work, no matter what I do.
However, suddenly I'm unable to even LOG IN. I now get this error:
xrdp_mm_process_login_response: login failed
I even uninstalled and reinstalled xrdp with
$ sudo apt-get --purge remove xrdp
- and then reinstalled it again. No changes. I get the "login failed error" no matter what.
Is it absolutely impossible to completely remove an application in Linux? If a screw it up, why is it so difficult to remove every trace of it and start again? It seems that there's ALLWAYS some small part left, when uninstalling, so that after reinstalling the screwups are still there.
