Trouble with gtkpod and banshee

Hey guys, I am new to lubuntu and am struggling to update songs onto my ipod nano 3rd generation.

I installed clemetine, gtkpod, and banshee in that order. However, none seem to get the job done. Whenever I drag a song over from the library to the ipod in gtkpod and banshee, it initially shows that the song has transferred, but when I disconnect the ipod, the song failed to carry over. I even tried the Sysinfo trick, but nothing seems to work. Can someone please assist me with this, or if there is a better option please suggest that, thank you.
