The workaround is to choose 'something else' during install.

Don't use this space for a list of your hardware. It only creates false hits in the search engines.
thank you, i usually use something else option, but was in a hurry and unaware of the bug at the time

While the bug is critical it was changed to triaged.
Or it then is not being worked on as there is a work around, I guess that means using Something Else but not updating instructions to tell users it will erase system.
The assigned developer says he cannot test it himself so he cannot resolve issue.
But post #67 explains how to download the Windows 7 and install where it works ok, and download Windows 8 and it erased drive. So it can be tested.

Does Triaged mean Ignored????? Merriam-Webster says:
I even suggested that it should be mentioned in the release notes:the assigning of priority order to projects on the basis of where funds and other resources can be best used, are most needed, or are most likely to achieve success

Surely it wouldn't take an extreme amount of resources to at least mention it in the release notes?????
I've been tempted to try and subscribe SABDFL
I think in this case triaged means there is a work around or just use Something else.
So it is not as critical since you can still install with Something Else, so nothing at least for now is being done.
But to me anything that damages another install or totally erases something without warning is a major issue.
