Re: KVM NETWORKING IN UBUNTU 14.04 for virtual machine

Here is a sample of /etc/network/interfaces file on a working Ubuntu machine with KVM and bridge mode on eth0.
    Code:
    # This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
    # and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).

    # The loopback network interface
    auto lo
    iface lo inet loopback

    # The primary network interface
    auto eth0
    iface eth0 inet manual

    auto br0
    iface br0 inet static
        bridge_ports eth0
            bridge_fd 9
            bridge_hello 2
            bridge_maxage 12
            bridge_stp off
        address 192.168.1.10
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        network 192.168.1.0
        broadcast 192.168.1.255
        gateway 192.168.1.1
        # dns-* options are implemented by the resolvconf package, if installed
        dns-nameservers 192.168.1.1 8.8.8.8
Reboot your computer to activate the settings.
To confirm the bridge interface, type the command: brctl show
You don't need to edit any of the resolv.conf file as long as the dns-nameservers line is in the interfaces file.

BTW, are you sure your main interface is eth0? I remember that on 14.04 the interfaces are named something like em1 or em0. What is the ifconfig
