Program for using VST effects in live skype calls?

So I have messed around a while trying to find voice changers or something of the sort and hadn't had much luck. Then I wondered if it might be possible to load VST plugins into skype somehow. I know there is Clowfish for Windows and it does pretty much exactly what I want... but the version for linux is vary limited and doesn't support anything accept for language translation.

So I was wondering if anyone had ideas about this.

BTW This is my first ever thread so sorry if its in the wrong spot or something. (It is also my first day to get an account on the forums).

Sorry if i'm sounding rude... it's just that I have been trying to do something like this for months and no one seems to offer any ideas.

Not much available, but if you are clever, you can try using sox.

Basically use sox to bend the microphone input and send it to a temporary file. Then assign the temporary file as the input to Skype. Because of the delays involved, talking in realtime may be a challenge because your brain can't process speech when it is delayed more than 200 or 300 milliseconds.
