mirror display to tv via hdmi not working in 14.04

Hello all. I upgraded to 14.04 and can't seem to get my laptop display to mirror on my tv via hdmi. When I look in the Display settings, it shows the tv, but nothing is actually on the tv (yes, it's all plugged in and on the correct input setting). I've tried ARandR without success. I'm running an ASUS B53S with intel Core i5 and ATI graphics card. Thank you in advance for your help.

You probably need AT/AMD proprietary drivers. Please post some more details about your graphics card/chip.

A quick check into the drivers...it says it's running the recommended proprietary driver.

Please tell me what info you need about the card and how to get it. I am happy to post it for you.
