    Bluetooth audio debugging

    Hello all,
    I have a new set of bluetooth speakers. They work fine on my Android phones and my HP SPectreXT Ubuntu laptop. But my Dell Precision M6700 has problems with them. It starts by playing normally but then after a few minutes the sound gets all hacked up, then silent, then it disconnects, reconnects and starts playing again. Very annoying.

    There used ot be a 2s lag that is now solved thanks to the VLC backend (aptitude install phonon-backend-vlc), but the periodical disconnect remains.
    I've been trying to diagnose whether it's a config problem (normally this should be the same config as my HP) or a hardware problem, but I need some help with that.

    I've been running hcidump -X and when the sound goes away, there's no more 'completed packets' messages and all the data packets are identical after the 1st few bytes:

    What can I try ?

    Turn off wireless and see how long the bluetooth connection lasts. Typically wifi will interfere with bluetooth. Sometimes there is an interference mode that you can activate in your wireless. What module are you running for your wireless?

    Code:
    lsmod
    lscpi | grep Network

    Thanks for your reply.
    You are most likely right. I disabled the wifi in the BIOS and I just ran the BT sound for one hour without a hitch. I wonder if this is related to a slow wifi issue I'm having here.

    Code:
    $ lspci | grep Network
    00:19.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection (rev 04)
    03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Advanced-N 6205 [Taylor Peak] (rev 34)

    $ lsmod

    Re: Bluetooth audio debugging

    I guess this ties in whith my slow wifi problems. If I disable the bluetooth in the BIOS, the wifi speeds up (even if I don't use it).
