I noticed that Asian text on tabs and in my bookmarks don't show up, or show up as weird characters. On websites though, such text is displayed fine. Any ideas how I could fix it?
This happens with both Chromium and Google Chrome (stable and dev).

are the fonts installed system wide ? i don't know if they are by default, with ubuntu.
because chrome and chromium can use built in temporary font rendering, to display fonts - on webpages - not actually installed on the computer
