Hey everyone... i'll start with the tl;dr

tl;dr : looking for a tablet that has compatible hardware for ubuntu

i am a lifelong mac user but i am very familiar with ubuntu running on all my servers...
i am looking for recommendations on a tablet that i want to use to keep all of my email on for offline access, and most importantly have root and not give data to google.

i know how forums can get so it would be nice if you guys could just post:
something you are using that you know works, and any caveats you think it has

and not post:
opinions, and second hand info about stuff you don't have.

and maybe if we do a great job, we'll even get stickied!
