Cairo Dock transparency problem in Utopic

For quite a while now in Gnome Flashback (with compiz) I have had this problem: example when I click on the logout button in Cairo Dock it looks good see below.
It seems to have started with a cairo dock update in Trusty on this install and continues in Utopic.

All is good at this point. Then if I click on Restart this is what I see:

An odd colored box that is sometimes hard to read. I don't see any settings that can be adjusted although I know it can be fairly complicated all the stuff you can do.
But, I was just wondering if someone had an idea of what is causing this. When I first click on the dock it appears fine but when I select something as above, the box goes to a weird color.

I purged all files associated with cairo dock in syntaptic, rebooted and re-installed all the files yet the problem still is there.
This came out of the synaptic output while both removing the file sand re-adding them:

Finally nailed it. When I purged the files and re-installed them the same dock appeared with the the custom items I had added to it.
So, I knew there was a config file I didn't delete.
Found this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/CairoDock and added the ppa.
At the bottom I clicked on recurrent problems and it led me to this:

And deleted the folder ~/.config/cairo-dock/

And when I purged it I got this command from that page sudo apt-get remove cairo-dock* --purge

I had to edit the source line and enter trusty as there is no ppa for utopic yet.
But it still pulled in the cairo dock from the regular repositories because it had the later version.

Guess I'll purge that ppa.

I wonder if any one has experienced this issue. If so here is the solution.
