Remove all suggestions from unity menu except for applications on 13.10

I would like to remove all suggestions in the Unity menu except for Applications, especially the shopping recommendations. I really don't fee like looking at advertising everytime I need to search for a application. How do I do this? Removal of unity-lens-shopping does not work.

Do you mean the Launcher or the Dash? Ubuntu 13.10 reaches end of life at the end of July this year. In Ubuntu 14.04 we can disable each of the Dash search plugins by clicking on the plugin and then when the Dash gives us information about that plugin we also get a button to click that says Disable.

Also in System Settings>Security and Privacy we can switch off "include online search results when searching in the Dash."
It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.
