Wireless used to work great, in the sense that if I opened ny Thinkpad in a new location, I could see all the available networks, and choose what to connect to. I could also easily switch from one network to another.
Now after recent upgrades (starting 13.10, now 14.04, also clean install), I can use wireless, but only the one I have "hard-coded". I can't see any other networks despite the fact that my home is surrounded by Wi-Fi systems. In a hotel recently I had to use my Android phone to figure out which networks were available, and type the details into network-manager.
There is a small icon on my panel, Nttwork Monitor, but it doesn't do anything as far as I can see.
Maybe I am missing some program to find these networks, and let me switch between them?
