Loading gnome classic to 14.04 LTS

I have just loaded version 14.04 and would like to use the gnome classic environment. This was no problem with version 12.04 but I can't work out how to do it on 14,04

Re: Loading gnome classic to 14.04 LTS

Things have changed a bit since 12.04. The 14.04 software centre has Gnome Session Flashback which will give two extra options at login, Gnome Flashback (Compiz) and Gnome Flashback (Metacity). The software centre also has Gnome classic. It is an extension to Gnome 3 shell. So, it installs Gnome 3 shell.

Re: Loading gnome classic to 14.04 LTS

I solved the problem by using the terminal to install gnome as previously. I have not used Ubuntu for some time and was a bit rusty on procedures. I remembered what I did last time just after I posted the thiread. The gnome classiccan now be selected at start up
