edit: no longer an issue, may not of been with 06/06 as I may not of waited long enough..

Well, no, the problem is broken daily images. While there exists isos in http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20140606/ kind of folders, it isnt in http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ because these iso files are broken.

    Re: No Ubuntu Daily Live?

    I used this zsync command.

    zsync -i utopic-desktop-amd64-20140606.iso http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live...md64.iso.zsync -o utopic-desktop-amd64-20140607.iso

I then used 14.04 Startup Disk Creator because 14.10 would not work and could boot the USB thumb drive.

I am thinking the iso must be ok just something in how current is looking is the issue.

The current issue isn't whether one can boot to live session, it's whether the installer will run.
Have you tried that on the 06/07 image?

Trying the june 6 iso from QA it appears ubiquity fails to acquire_lock(), failing at

    if 'DEBIAN_HAS_FRONTEND' not in os.environ:
    # Do a quick check to see if the debconf database is locked by
    # something else.
    .....
If I remove that if section from the script (totally, 100% not recommended), then the installer will launch & proceed
I'm not quite following what file to edit

I'd like to do a fresh install of Ubuntu GNOME Utopic because I'm making some comparisons against minimal installs (adding various desktop environments via a chroot) and actual packages installed in a default out-of-box install via live image.

Just tried the current 'Ubuntu' iso & it works fine, takes a little while to actually open the installer
So maybe get the current ubuntu gnome iso from here & see

I got hung up on the netboot images anyway:

    Probably just being impatient
