    Nvidia optimus

So i tried Kubutu loved it.. Tried linux mint loved it.. The GUI is exactly what i wanted.. But i need multiple monitor support... and.. it seems that multiple monitor support with anything but ubuntu is at the best unstable(if not fragged my entire OS).. has any one actually gotten kubuntu or linux mint mate 17.. running stable with multiple monitors (Hdmi) running optimus cards? In my experiance even unpluging or turning off my monitor in kubuntu has resulted in disaster.. Even changing my rez has resulted in disaster if you shrink it way down.. like 1024x768 (done orginally running a wine program then reinstalled and tested on kubuntu resulted in three lines like used to happen on old monitors when over hz) on kubuntu set the refresh rate of my tv i was streaming to and even my native display to 112hz by default..(seemingly unrecoverable) (is it kde related?)

    Intel Core i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz × 8
    GeForce GTX 660M/PCIe/SSE2
