Google Earth in Linux 12.04: stopped working

It just stopped working. It still works with other login (there are two users).

I managed to install it again, but it didn't zoom to minimun details. Then I rebooted Linux, now Google-Earth doesn't run. There are "many ways" to install it in the Internet, I tried so many I now don't remember which worked (though GE ran just once).

Is there any "official" tip on how to install and have it working ok?

    Thanks

Well if it works for the other login but not you obviously the culprit is your user's configuration and re-installing GE would not help. Open the file manager, either press ctrl+h or choose 'show hidden' from the menu, find the hidden folder .googleearth and delete it should fix the problem or, less drastically, it may work by just deleting the file instance-running-lock in .googleearth.

Google Earth disappeared from my desktop PC's menu, and the Ubuntu Software Center's SEARCH doesn't find it.
