Unable to disable/ modify Global keyboard shortcuts

I have recently installed Ubtuntu 14.0.4 LTS desktop, I had ubuntu 12.10 earlier. I am building an application which requires global shortcut keys like app switching , launching run-command terminal etc to be blocked.
I achieved this via gsettings earlier in 12.10.

In 14.04 I am unable to perfomr the same even via dconf-editor.
SO opening dconf-editor and going to org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings and disable/modify global key board shortcuts like switch-applications etc the keyboard shortcuts are not disabled.

Any help on this would be appreciated
