Looking for the best Mobo for Linux

    Hi!

So right now I am using the Asus B85-PLUS Mobo. It is pretty decent but only with windows. With windows, I can install some seperate software, that handles all the fans in the computer far better than the BIOS it self would do. When using that software, the fans will be 100% quiet duing idle. Now on Linux, the fans will be spinning at about 800rpm all the time and it is not possible to tune it down more in BIOS - that is the minimum that is allowed there.

So any of you guys have experience with Linux and proper fan controlling? I will be using a nice SLI setup with two 780's and clocked CPU, so the best FAN control is very important to me.

there are a couple of software that do powermanagement and fan control. tlp is one of them (maybe more limited to batery), then fancontrol: http://askubuntu.com/questions/22108...trol-fan-speed
Read the easy to understand, lots of pics Ubuntu manual.
Do i need antivirus/firewall in linux?
Full disk backup (newer kernel -> suitable for newer PC): Clonezilla
