I would like to convert a dmg file to img. When I use dmg2img in Terminal, I just seem to be getting an img text document instead of the actual file. What do I need to do?

Can you post the contents of the text document being produced as well.
EDIT: Hi bapoumba. I hope you're well
Kind regards

Thinking about becoming an Ubuntu Member?
The dmg is a Mac digital editing program not a text file.

If an imaging editing program such as Lightroom is converted, the format is changed. This also changes the special effects of the software's tools, upon the photos being edited or manipulated by the program. Different operating systems conversions such as windows, ubuntu and Mac give different formatting, which in turn produces different effects and enhancements. I wish to experiment with this.
Converting the .dmg file from one disk image file type to another will not change the contents in any way, and won't make the Mac version of a software run on any other operating system.
If it's Lightroom you are converting, the only way to get a version that runs on Ubuntu is to just download the Linux version from their website. (Which, by the way, has exactly the same effects and features available as any other version)
Unless I am mistaken, Adobe Lightroom does not have a Linux port, only Mac OSX and Windows. Whatever the OP is after, does not sound legit to me on Linux (thus my first question).
May be here ? http://www.darktable.org/

Oh, that's true. I was thinking about Lightworks...
Darktable would indeed be the closest alternative for Lightroom.
