Please post related logs of the /var/log/mail.log
Also, is the problem receiving from outside domains such as gmail?
If so, have you configured your DNS MX and PTR records for your email server?
Ubuntu addict and loving it
Did you run the conf.pl script in Squirrelmail and designate an IMAP server?
