Sharing Spotify cache on a dual boot system

Has anyone had success this with? I have a piddly 256GB SSD in my laptop and can't really afford to sync my Spotify library with it once on Windows and once on Xubuntu.

If I set the cache directory to the same location Windows stores it, Xubuntu doesn't act like anything is there. I suspect each installation has different encryption keys or whatever, but maybe there's a way to copy the encryption profile or something over? Has anyone had luck dealing with this?
