+1. That's what I use. The add-on developer has started this thread: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewto...f=48&t=2773133
Shortened urls: See point #11 here. And clicking on them could be risky.
    Use ubuntu-support-status with caution.

Re: Firefox update - change of appearance

Tried themes but they didn't really solve the problem. Tried rolling back my browser but now it doesn't show up in my Ubuntu Dash when searching "Firefox" and it seems the "Ubuntu Firefox Modification" plugin doesn't work properly when it was working fine before...

Just gave that one a shot. Unfortunately while it now lets me move a lot of the tabs and such around, the bar the buttons were on cannot be removed so I'm stuck with this blank white bar (navigation bar) at the top of the screen :/

The tabs also re-size in both height and width depending on what you're doing, which is odd.

    So frustrating

Customisation can also cause this bug to emerge:

    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=625778

which 'greys out' Right-Click context options in the Bookmarks drop-down window. The current workaround appears to be to complete all custom settings and then exit and restart Firefox.

Are you using the url bar for search? (I forget what firefox calls it, awesome bar or omnibar, or chocolate bar)

Do you have the quick search bar?
I know you can switch search engines with that.

I guess I just enjoy not having the top inch/two inches of my screen taken up with interface

I never really use bookmarks tbh - I have noticed the "new tab" + symbol drops though, which is a bit show stopping...

It's because my default search engine is duckduckgo and the older version of firefox that I've downloaded won't recognise it... so my previous browser version was newer, while still version 28, where this bug was rectified, it would seem.

The best option so far seems to be to use the newer browser and heavily mod the interface... which seems to be mostly working but ultimately buggy, which unfortunately seems better than the standard theme where I cannot remove the navigation bar and a host of other issues.

What is the difference? The second one is a bit thinner, that's it? I can hardly tell.

See attached for what I got. I didn't do anything, it is the default look. It works really nicely with Unity, but then you seem to be using a 'classic' desktop so you lose a little bit of vertical space. No big deal if you have a big screen.

There's no difference. They're saying they got exactly what they wanted.

    They're also not the OP

Here is the previous layout I had, which is seemingly impossible to achieve now, with the new theme
