Lubuntu 14.04 printer set up

I've been running Lubuntu 14.04 for a couple days and I wasn't able to get the printer to work. In Ubuntu and Xubuntu it wasn't a problem (HP 1055 printer) but with Lubuntu, even after installing hplip and configuring the printer, it still wouldn't print! But I discovered what was missing...

Go to System tools > Printers > right click on the printer icon and go to > Properties > Policies > and make sure that Accepting jobs is Checked! It wasn't by default and that's why it didn't print. Now all is well and printing.

Thanks for providing the tip. I'm sure it will help someone. I had no problems when I installed HPLIP this time. HP is probably the most Linux friendly hardware provider that there is.
