Make Firefox default for web, gmail and google calendar

I'm running 14.04 and have so far been using Chrome as browser and for mail and calendar. Now, I want to switch to firefox.
I can make Firefox the default for web browsing no problem, but how do I do the same for gmail and google calendar ?
In System settings for example, it says Thunderbird as default for email with no other option to select.

I can tell you this much: I've always had good luck posting FF questions to http://forums.mozillazine.org/index.php?c=8. Give that a try if no one here can help. Cheers.

If you have been accessing mail and calendar via a web browser you can continue to do so with any browser, but you won't find the integration extensions available for Chrome. Thunderbird being a mail client is different than a web browser and offers Lightning as a calendar extension and from what I read allows for synchronization with Google Calendar.I don't use Google Calendar and can.t offer any setup information.

For email, install Gnome-Gmail from the software centre, then set it as the default email application. Clicking on email links will now open Gmail in your preferred browser.

Is there a similar fix for hotmail?

Desktop Webmail, also in the Software Centre, might do the trick.

I use this extras in Thunderbird:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-EN/thu...ogle-calendar/ (installs and depends on Lightning but adds functionality for other Google services).
